The MAC-LA Camping Trip
Every year MAC-LA sponsors a camping trip to a selected camp site. Camping is usually scheduled in July. All members, friends, and family are invited to particpate in this festive event. The activities generally starts on a Friday late afternoon where members setup their tents and last through Sunday afternoon. The purpose of the event is to promote a sense of comradere within the Association as well as provide a venue for members to openly discuss thoughts and ideas that would benefit the Association and fellow members. Activities at the camp site usually include a bon fire, singing, games for the kids, mahjong for the adults or taking a hike along the trails.
Throughout the day, there is usually an all-you-can eat food table filled with a mix of American and Filipino traditional foods (lumpia, pancit, adobo, lechon, etc). The food is usually a potluck provided by individuals and families and shared with everyone at camping.
In all, the yearly camping event is certainly one in which all members and their family look foward to.
