In Memory Of Salve "Ba-King" Smith
Salvacion "Salve" Nava Smith was born in Miagao, Iloilo to Pilar Palmos and retired Chief of Police Victoriano Nava on April 2, 1954. She met the love of her life Terry Smith and they married on Feb. 11, 1979. She attended Miagao Elementary School and Miagao Vocational High School.
Salve traveled the world and across the US. One of her favorite places to visit was Yellowstone National Park where she could enjoy the nature. She had a keen green thumb and took good care of flowers and vegetable gardens. She was good at the sport of fishing. She is an accomplished and most sought after seamstress. She became a licensed CA cosmetologist in the early 1990's.
She was a long-standing active member of the Miagao Association Los Angeles Chapter, contributing her creativity and resources and above all her presence despite her physical ailments. She was most excited about the camping activities and loved to dance and sing at the various parties. She enjoyed playing mahjong. She was also charitable and provided to the people and town of Miagao. She and her husband erected a flagpole for the Barangay Guibongan elementary school. She and her husband provided for their nieces and nephews education in the Philippines.
She passed away peacefully at the Western Medical Center in Tustin, CA on Saturday April 26 at approximately 3pm with her husband and family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband, brothers and sisters. She will be missed.
